Garden post

Last week we had a lot of rain and dreariness here in Holland. However before that, I had made some pictures of the garden :).
Afgelopen week was het weer erg somber en nat hier in Nederland. Gelukkig hebben we al wat mooi weer gehad en heb ik dus nog wat mooie plaatjes voor jullie :).

My mum bought this super cute butterfly house last year and the rose has decided to embellish it :).
Vorig jaar heeft mijn moeder dit schattige vlinderhuisje gekocht en dit jaar besloot de roos daar mooi omheen te gaan groeien :).

And yay its time to harvest!
En er kan al geoogst worden uit de tuin!

Ate them, they were delicious ;).
Ze zijn inmiddels op en waren heerlijk ;).

And of course some flowers.
En natuurlijk wat bloemen.

Also my Phlox is having buds! And my bean plant has little beans! And my paprika plant has a green-to-be-orange paprika! And the carrot leaves have become VERY big, wonder how the carrots look now... Have to make some more pictures as soon as the sun is back to stay ;).

Daarnaast staat ook mijn Phlox in knop! En de bonenstruik heeft kleine boontjes! En de paprikaplant heeft een groen-moet-nog-oranje-worden paprikaatje! En het groen van de wortels is ERG groot geworden, ben benieuwd hoe de wortels er uit zien... Ik moet maar wat meer foto's maken als de zon voorgoed terug is ;).

My sweet, little rabbit Anne. She loves to be in the garden, play hide and seek, catch me if you can and sample plants here and there :D.

Iemand die het niet kan schelen of de zon nou wel of niet schijnt, en nog niet netjes voorgesteld is...

Mijn lieve, eigenwijze konijntje Anne. Ze vindt het geweldig om in de tuin te zijn, verstoppertje te spelen, heel hard weg te rennen en hier en daar een hapje te nemen :D.

For now I'm working on my hexagons, have stitched most of them together now :).

In de tussentijd ben ik bezig met mijn hexagons, ze zitten nu bijna allemaal aan elkaar :).

Anything and some more

As I didn't had time yet to show the newest additions to my room after Queensday, I will do that now :). Since I didn't had time to go and look for stuff myself (studying is exhausting!), my mum did that for me :). 


Ik had nog geen tijd gehad om de Koninginnedag schatten te laten zien, dus dat zal ik doen nu :). Omdat ik geen tijd had om zelf te gaan kijken (studeren is vermoeiend!), heeft mijn moeder dat voor mij gedaan:).

The baskets got a nice spot in the garden and look really cute with the flowers in it. 
Deze schattige mandjes sieren nu de tuin. Schattig toch met de spaanse margrieten?

I wanted some cups to make candles in. My mum found these little ones for me, aren't they cute!
Ik wilde graag kopjes om kaarsjes in te maken. M'n moeder vond deze kleintjes, lief toch?

And she also found this wine rack. It now lives in my students room and holds three bottles of wine, waiting for the time I live in the house of my dreams ;).

Ze vond ook dit wijnrek. Hij woont nu in mijn studentenkamer met drie flessen wijn en wacht op de tijd dat ik in mijn droomhuisje ga wonen ;).

I had to leave my tomato plant alone for a week and we didn't know whether he would survive or not (he did!!! :):):)), so my mum bought some more plants and also a watering can to water the little plants that are not strong enough yet for the big watering can. I know, this one is for children, well I love it ;). And so does my rabbit, she loves to knock it over...:P.

Ik moest mijn tomatenplant alleen laten voor een week en we wisten niet of hij het ​​zou overleven of niet (gelukkig wel! :) :) :)), Dus mijn moeder kocht wat tomatenplantjes en ook een gietertje voor de plantjes die  nog te kwetsbaar zijn voor de grote gieter. Ik weet het, deze is voor kinderen, ik vind 'm geweldig ;). En mijn konijn ook, vooral het omgooien is geweldig...: P.

This is how the candle-in-a-cup turned out. Cute huh! It looks so vintage :).
En zo is de kaars-in-een-kopje geworden. Schattig he! Het ziet er zo vintage uit :).

 I also wanted to show this one. My mum put the flowers we bought in this basket and it looks BEAUTIFUL!! Love the colours and the material of the basket.

Ook deze wilde ik even laten zien. Mijn moeder heeft de bloemen die we kochten, in een mand gezet en het ziet er prachtig uit! Ik hou van de combinatie van deze kleuren met het materiaal van het mandje.

And finally a hexagon update again :). Not going very fast, but we'll get there!
En een hexagon updateje :). Het gaat niet snel maar we komen er wel!

Finally this picture. I love the colour combination of the candle with the flowers :).
Als laatste deze foto. Ik vind de kleurcombinatie van de kaars met de boterbloempjes geweldig :).

Weekend break

This weekend ends with homemade scones with blueberries and started with healthy homemade pizza.
Dit weekend wordt afgesloten met zelfgemaakte scones met blauwe bessen en begon met gezonde zelfgemaakte pizza.

The pizza was made after a recipe Amber Albarda.
De pizza is gemaakt naar een recept van Amber Albarda, met speltbloem en dus veel gezonder dan kant en klare pizza! En veel lekkerder ;).

We also went to a garden center to buy some plants for the garden.
We zijn ook nog eventjes naar een tuincentrum geweest om wat planten te kopen voor de tuin.

Long time no blogging

I've been very busy with studying, so blogging isn't my first priority. However to relax in between study sessions, I decided to paint :). I used some pictures from a magazine as inspiration.


Ik heb het erg druk met studeren op het moment, dus bloggen heeft eigenlijk geen prioriteit op het moment. Maar ontspanning is ook belangrijk, dus ik ben gaan schilderen :). Als inspiratie heb ik wat foto's uit de Home & Garden gebruikt.

More easter

I didn't realize, but in three weeks it's already easter. I bought new eggs this year for in the Easter branches, but as you have seen in an earlier post, they were already full ;). So I decided to hang them in my cardholder-heart. Doesn't it look sweet?
Again this part of my room is very differently styled than the other corners (see branches and little corner with the birdhouse), yes it looks a bit silly when you see it all at once and in the pictures it looks as if there are three different rooms... Can't help it, couldn't make a choice, and well it's a students room anyway so why should it be all be grown up already ;).
Ik had het me niet gerealiseerd, maar over drie weken is het al Pasen. Ik had voor dit jaar nieuwe eitjes gekocht voor in de paastakken, maar zoals je gezien hebt in een eerdere post, waren de takken al vol;). Dus heb ik ze in mijn kaarthouder-hart gehangen. Is het niet schattig?
Ook dit deel van mijn kamer is weer heel anders ingericht dan de andere hoekjes (zie de paastakken en het hoekje met het vogelhuisje), ja het ziet er een beetje gek uit als je alles in een oogopslag ziet en op de foto's lijkt het alsof het drie verschillende kamers zijn... Ach, ik kan het niet helpen, kan geen keuze maken. En goed, het is een studenten kamer, dus waarom zou het allemaal al volwassen en in één style moeten ;).

En de Campanula heeft nog meer bloemetjes in bloei, zo mooi!

Spring!!

The sun is shining and the birds start singing again... Spring is almost there!
And luckily I found my easter decorations, so I'm ready!

De zon schijnt en de vogels beginnen weer te zingen ... Bijna lente!
En gelukkig heb ik mijn paasspulletjes weer gevonden, dus ik ben er klaar voor!

It looks a bit full, but I don't care ;).
Het is een beetje vol, maar ook wel heel gezellig ;).

And I finally bought a birdhouse (for inside)! I like how it says: Spring!!

En eindelijk heb ik een vogelhuisje (voor binnen) gekocht! Het huisje roept gewoon: lente!

Also the little plants are growing fast! I seeded some more lettuce yesterday, so I will have some crops also later on. And my campanula is blooming beautifully :).

Ook de kleine plantjes groeien enorm! Ik heb gisteren nog wat sla bijgezaaid, zodat ik een paar weken na elkaar nog steeds sla kan eten. En mijn campanula bloeit prachtig :).

I'm happy that it is weekend, enjoy it :).

Ik ben blij dat het weekend is, geniet ervan :).

Weekend work

Weekend is almost over again and a new week of working is waiting.
This weekend I made 6 more hexagons for my blanket, although it is not going very fast, it still is growing.

Het weekend is weer bijna voorbij en een nieuwe week van werken wacht.
Dit weekend heb ik nog 6 zeshoekjes voor mijn deken gehaakt. Het gaat nog steeds niet erg snel, maar hij groeit nog steeds.

The colors are not that cheerfully, but they balance out with the ones I already made. I especially like the one in pastel colors.

De kleuren zijn niet zo vrolijk, maar ze zijn prima in evenwicht met mijn andere zeshoekjes. Vooral de ene in pastelkleuren vind ik erg mooi geworden. 

I also have seeded some seeds already! This time I started with paprika, lettuce and tomatoes. I've seeded them in an old package of cake from the supermarket. It perfectly fits my window sill. I hope they will go growing soon :).

Ik heb ook al wat zaadjes gezaaid! Deze keer ben ik begonnen met paprika, sla en tomaten. Ik heb een oude verpakking van een kersenvlaai gebruikt als kasje want die past precies op mijn vensterbank. Ik hoop dat ze snel zullen gaan groeien :).

During the holidays I also planted some tulips. The garden centre (yes the one where I also bought these cake saucers) had then on sale because it's too late to plant them in the garden, but inside they grow beautifully as you can see! I'm expecting them to become pink :). 

Tijdens de kerstvakantie heb ik ook een paar tulpenbollen geplant. Het tuincentrum (ja dezelfde waar ik ook deze gebakschoteltjes heb gekocht) had ze in de uitverkoop omdat het te laat is om ze in de tuin te planten, maar binnen groeien ze prachtig zoals je kan zien! Als het goed is worden ze roze :).

And last but not least I decluttered another part of my students room. For this I coated an old shoebox with wrappingpaper. I'm very pleased with the result, it even looks a bit Pip-like, I think.

En last but not least, heb ik ook weer een deel van mijn studenten kamer "ontrommeld". Hiervoor heb ik een oude schoenendoos bekleed met pakpapier. Ik vind hem erg leuk geworden, zelfs een beetje Pip-achtig :).

Flowers 2011

Continuing the things and projects over 2011 that I did not yet show, the flowers:

  These (both up and down) are from my parents' garden :).

This one I used as an inspiration source for my painting (shown here).

 

 These are bought at a flower stand near the road. Dahlias and sunflowers, I really love the combination of flowers and colors!

Cakes 2011

These are the things and projects over 2011 that I did not yet show. I'll do that now so I can start 2012 fresh. To start with the cakes:

First of all, I graduated for my BSc this year! This called for (lots of) cake :). The image on the cake is drawn by myself in the style of Blond Amsterdam. I had it printed on a frosty sheet at 'de leukste taarten prints.nl'.

And I got flowers of course :).

I never had worked with fondant before so we tried it out on this cake:

I myself do really like this one, especially since it was the first one ever!
