Relax....

Long time no blogging... Unfortunately my study is demanding all my time and energy at the moment. So even during the weekends I have trouble to relax. Fortunately I can almost always crochet and that's what I've done.
Lang geleden dat ik heb geblogd... Mijn studie neemt op het moment al mijn tijd en energie in beslag. Dus zelfs in het weekend is het moeilijk om te ontspannen. Gelukkig kan ik onder bijna alle omstandigheden haken, dus dat heb ik gedaan.

Via Pinterest I found a garland of small, crocheted rounds made of left over yarn. I thought it looked cute and it gave me a chance to try out some new stiches. I'm now looking for beads to put on a string between them. The heart was made for a friend who is going to travel, pattern can be found here.
Via Pinterest vond ik een slinger van allemaal kleine, gehaakte rondjes van restjes wol. Dat zag er superleuk uit en gaf me gelijk de kans wat steken uit te proberen. Nu ben ik nog op zoek naar kraaltjes om ze mee aan een draad te rijgen. Het hartje heb ik gemaakt voor een vriendin die binnenkort op reis gaat, het patroon komt van hier.

My blanket probably looks familiar since I showed it multiple times. It is still not finished of and now I discovered it is already falling apart :(. However, I think this is just a beginners mistake (I cut the threads too short while finishing this hexagon), so I'm hoping it can be easily repaired.
Deze deken hebben jullie al vaker gezien. Hij is nog steeds niet helemaal afgewerkt maar hij begint toch al uit elkaar te vallen :(. Ik denk dat ik dit zeshoekje iets te strak afgewerkt had, dus ik hoop dat dit vrij simpel nog te verhelpen is.

I also went on with the paper birdhouses (the big ones, still saving the small ones for my internship). Cute hah!
Ik ben ook verder gegaan met de papieren vogelhuisjes van de Action (alleen de grote, de kleintjes bewaar ik om mee te nemen op stage). Schattig toch?

And finally I have them! The birdhouses out of MDF. Unfortunately the paper that came with it is way too tin, so I have to spray paint the houses white first and then I need to modge podge the paper on them. Will do that when I have some spare time ;).
En eindelijk heb ik ook de MDF vogelhuisjes van de Action. Helaas is het papier dat er bij zit heel erg dun, dus ik ga de huisjes eerst wit spuiten en dan beplakken met modge podge. Gelukkig was er op de facebook fan pagina van de Action al voor gewaarschuwd. (Wisten jullie dat de action een fanpage heeft? Staan superleuke knutselideeën op met Action spulletjes!) Dus als ik even tijd over heb ga ik weer verder met de vogel

Anyways, I think they are cute (I have two of them) and I'm sure they will become even cuter when they are finished.
Hoe dan ook, ik vind ze nu al schattig en ze worden vast mooi ;).

And to finish of with: My cherry tomato plant has tomatoes!!! Can't wait till they are ripe :).
En tot slot: Mijn cherrie-tomatenplant heeft tomaatjes!!! Ik kan niet wachten tot ze rijp zijn :).

Finished WIPs!

And FINALLY some finished WIPs (work in progress). Last year I started the owls for decorating the christmas tree. The ones that were finished actually ended up in the christmas tree. Luckily they also look cute the rest of the year ;). And they're very easy to make :). The pattern is from Matawi and is available in Dutch and English.
EINDELIJK zijn een aantal WIPs (work in progress) afgerond. Afgelopen jaar begon ik met het haken van uiltjes, met het idee om ze in de kerstboom te hangen. Gelukkig zijn ze de rest van het jaar ook leuk ;). En super makkelijk te maken :). Het patroontje komt van Matawi.

And then Fawn 2.0 from Elisabeth Doherty I started here and finally she's finished ;). Fawn was the first animal that I tried and funny enough almost the last one that was finished. In the mean time I learned a lot. So did I learn to crochet very thight when you make animals, so that they can stand up right (and you don't see the stuffing). Also the stripes are not neatly around the legs. That are things I want to try better later on :).

 
En dan Fawn 2.0 van Elisabeth Doherty (Engels patroon). Ik begon hier en het heeft even geduurd, maar ze is af ;). Fawn was het eerste beestje dat ik maakte en gek genoeg bijna de laatste die af was. Ondertussen heb ik veel geleerd. Zo is Fawn eigenlijk niet stevig genoeg gehaakt en kan ze dus niet staan (en je ziet de vullig een beetje). Ook lopen de strepen op de pootjes niet helemaal netjes. Dat zijn dingen die ik later nog een keertje ga proberen te verbeteren :).

Also my easter bunny is almost finished. Cute huh! I love how she turned out. For the ears I want to get some fabric to line the inner ears with. Therefore they are now attached with savety pins. I'll show her later when she's fully finished :). Pattern (free!) comes from here.

En ook mijn paashaasje is bijna af. Schattig he! Ik vind haar zo leuk geworden. Voor de oortjes wil ik nog een leuk stoffje om ze mee te voeren. Daarom zitten de oren nu nog vast met veiligheidsspelden. Als ze helemaal af is zal ik haar nog eens laten zien :). Patroon (gratis!) komt van hier (Engels).

Fawn 2.0

I finally went on with fawn 2.0. Although it still will take a while to finish, I got a long way with the head.
Ik ben eindelijk weer verder gegaan met fawn 2.0. Het zal nog wel even duren voor ze af is, maar ik ben al een heel eind met het hoofdje.

Christmas peek

Although it's just autumn, I started with making christmas decorations already. Last month I ordered the pattern of Matawi's owl and the idea arised to make a bunch of them for in the christmas tree. So I started crocheting.
Ook al is het net herfst, ik ben al begonnen met het maken van kerstversieringen. Vorige maand heb ik eindelijk het patroontje van Matawi's uiltje besteld en het leek me leuk om ze met z'n allen in de kerstboom te hangen. Dus ik ben begonnen met haken ;).

 

It's lovely to do, except for the eyes ;). I had never used safety eyelets before and I don't have the hang of it yet...

Het is een erg leuk patroontje om te haken, behalve het aanbrengen van de oogjes dan ;). Het is voor het eerst dat ik veiligheidsoogjes gebruik en dat is nog niet zo makkelijk...

And another peek, I made this one a couple of years ago and still love it. The idea came from the magazine Ariadne at Home, but unfortunately they have removed it from the site (don't know why...)

En nog een kerstvoorproefje, deze ster heb ik een aantal jaar geleden gemaakt en ik vind hem nog steeds erg leuk. Het patroon komt van Ariadne at Home, maar helaas hebben ze hem van de site gehaald (geen idee waarom...)

Dotty 2!

And another cute sheep is born! This time a little different, since this one had to be child proof. Yes, thats right, a new baby girl was born and now I have a second cousin :). So I made the pattern "Floortje the Sheep" (from Christel Krukkert, also available via Ravelry) again, but now without the fluffy wool etc.

En een nieuw schaapje is geboren! Deze keer een beetje anders, want ze moest wel kindveilig worden. Ja! Mijn eerste achternichtje is geboren :). Dus ik heb "Floortje het Schaap" (van Christel Krukkert, ook via Ravelry te vinden) nog een keertje gemaakt, maar nu zoder de pluizige wol etc.

Heel anders dan de eerste, maar toch ook schattig, vind ik :).

 

I also added a little flower to give it something extra, and to be able to use some pink ;).

Ik heb er ook een klein bloemetje op gemaakt om het iets extra's (roze's) te geven ;).

Hexagon update

Finally a proper hexagon update!!
Eindelijk weer wat hexagon nieuws!!

 

All hexagons are sewed together now :). I had some hexagons left, but not enough to make a new row. So I crocheted some more, and already sewed them on to the blanket (however I don't have a picture of that yet, the sun is finally there but not shining in the living room unfortunately). Now I need to work away the loose ends and to make a proper lining so it will look finished :).

Alle hexagons zitten nu aan elkaar :). Ik had er een paar over, maar niet genoeg voor een hele rij. Dus ik heb er een paar bij gemaakt en ook die zitten al aan de deken vast (dat staat nog niet op de foto, het licht was nl niet heel mooi). Nu moet ik alleen nog de losse eindjes wegwerken en een mooie rand maken :).

Hexagon

Just a small up-date this time... Some new hexagons to add to my collection. Now I have 167 of these little, colorful pieces. Stilll not enough... Alhough I'm already thinking of new blankets to make ;).
Maar een kleine up-date voor vandaag... Een paar nieuwe hexagons om aan de verzameling toe te voegen. Nu heb ik al 167 kleine, gekleurde lapjes. Nog lang niet genoeg... Toch ben ik al over nieuwe dekens en projecten aan het nadenken ;).

Colour combinations still are all unique (as far as I still have overview ;)) and still not attached to each other so I can shuffle the colors.
Tot nu toe heb ik nog steeds geen dubbele kleurcombinaties (voor zover ik het nog kan overzien ;)). Ook zitten ze nog niet aan elkaar zodat ik nog kan schuiven met de kleuren.

Anything and some more

As I didn't had time yet to show the newest additions to my room after Queensday, I will do that now :). Since I didn't had time to go and look for stuff myself (studying is exhausting!), my mum did that for me :). 


Ik had nog geen tijd gehad om de Koninginnedag schatten te laten zien, dus dat zal ik doen nu :). Omdat ik geen tijd had om zelf te gaan kijken (studeren is vermoeiend!), heeft mijn moeder dat voor mij gedaan:).

The baskets got a nice spot in the garden and look really cute with the flowers in it. 
Deze schattige mandjes sieren nu de tuin. Schattig toch met de spaanse margrieten?

I wanted some cups to make candles in. My mum found these little ones for me, aren't they cute!
Ik wilde graag kopjes om kaarsjes in te maken. M'n moeder vond deze kleintjes, lief toch?

And she also found this wine rack. It now lives in my students room and holds three bottles of wine, waiting for the time I live in the house of my dreams ;).

Ze vond ook dit wijnrek. Hij woont nu in mijn studentenkamer met drie flessen wijn en wacht op de tijd dat ik in mijn droomhuisje ga wonen ;).

I had to leave my tomato plant alone for a week and we didn't know whether he would survive or not (he did!!! :):):)), so my mum bought some more plants and also a watering can to water the little plants that are not strong enough yet for the big watering can. I know, this one is for children, well I love it ;). And so does my rabbit, she loves to knock it over...:P.

Ik moest mijn tomatenplant alleen laten voor een week en we wisten niet of hij het ​​zou overleven of niet (gelukkig wel! :) :) :)), Dus mijn moeder kocht wat tomatenplantjes en ook een gietertje voor de plantjes die  nog te kwetsbaar zijn voor de grote gieter. Ik weet het, deze is voor kinderen, ik vind 'm geweldig ;). En mijn konijn ook, vooral het omgooien is geweldig...: P.

This is how the candle-in-a-cup turned out. Cute huh! It looks so vintage :).
En zo is de kaars-in-een-kopje geworden. Schattig he! Het ziet er zo vintage uit :).

 I also wanted to show this one. My mum put the flowers we bought in this basket and it looks BEAUTIFUL!! Love the colours and the material of the basket.

Ook deze wilde ik even laten zien. Mijn moeder heeft de bloemen die we kochten, in een mand gezet en het ziet er prachtig uit! Ik hou van de combinatie van deze kleuren met het materiaal van het mandje.

And finally a hexagon update again :). Not going very fast, but we'll get there!

Anything

Since I've started with my Master Thesis for my study, I've been very busy. So I'm not that creative at the moment, because of a lack of time.
Sinds ik ben begonnen met mijn afstudeervak voor mijn studie, heb ik het echt super druk! Dus ik ben niet zo creatief op het moment, vooral vanwege een gebrek aan tijd.
Fortunately it is almost easter, so I can decorate my room without making a lot of stuff. Unfortunately I can't find my decorations yet,  but I did buy some new egg cups :).
Gelukkig is het bijna Pasen, dus ik kan lekker creatief zijn met versieren in plaats van maken. Helaas kan ik mijn eigen spulletjes nog even niet vinden, maar ik heb wel al superleuke nieuwe eierdopjes gekocht bij de Blokker :).

They do suit very well with the stuff I already had :).

Ze passen heel goed bij de spulletjes die al op de plank stonden :).

Also I made this little project. It's really fun to do and not that difficult!

Ook heb ik dit kleine projectje gemaakt. Het is echt leuk om te doen en helemaal niet zo moeilijk!

And I even started a new project! It is still work in progress, but it goes well. It's Fawn 2.0 from gourmet amigurumi (sorry can't find her name at the  moment).

En ik ben zelfs met een nieuw project gestart! Het is nog werk in uitvoering, maar het gaat goed. Het is Fawn 2.0 van gourmet amigurumi (sorry ik kan even niet op haar naam komen).

 I love deers in almost every form and this one will become so sweet!
Ik hou van hertjes in bijna elke vorm en deze wordt zo schattig!

Zpagetti!!

As I told before, I still had a ball of Zpagetti left because I didn't know how to work with it. Well in the mean time I totally got it, and here is the result:
First of all, the cushion to be... I only need to make the backside out of some fabric, but it already fits in very well with the rest of the cushions and the painting on the wall. 

 

Zoals ik al eerder zei, had ik nog een bol Zpagetti liggen, omdat ik niet wist hoe ik ermee moest werken. Welnu, in de tussentijd heb ik het helemaal door en hier is het resultaat:
Allereerst het kussen in wording ... Ik hoef alleen nog maar een achterkant te maken van een restje stof, maar hij past nu al heel goed bij de rest van de kussens en het schilderij aan de muur.

After the cushion, I still had some Zpagetti leftover, and on television I saw people making jackets for a vase and really liked the idea. No flowers yet to put in it, but it looks nice on his own.
Na het kussen, ik had nog Zpagetti over, en op tv zag ik mensen die "jasjes" om vazen heen maakten en dat leek mij ook wel een leuk idee. Nog geen bloemen om erin te zetten, maar het ziet er zo ook leuk uit.

And finally, a sort of basket, also made without a pattern. It's very usefull for loose clutter :).

En tot slot een  mandje, ook zonder patroon gemaakt. Het is erg handig voor losse rommeltjes :).

Weekend work

Weekend is almost over again and a new week of working is waiting.
This weekend I made 6 more hexagons for my blanket, although it is not going very fast, it still is growing.

Het weekend is weer bijna voorbij en een nieuwe week van werken wacht.
Dit weekend heb ik nog 6 zeshoekjes voor mijn deken gehaakt. Het gaat nog steeds niet erg snel, maar hij groeit nog steeds.

The colors are not that cheerfully, but they balance out with the ones I already made. I especially like the one in pastel colors.

De kleuren zijn niet zo vrolijk, maar ze zijn prima in evenwicht met mijn andere zeshoekjes. Vooral de ene in pastelkleuren vind ik erg mooi geworden. 

I also have seeded some seeds already! This time I started with paprika, lettuce and tomatoes. I've seeded them in an old package of cake from the supermarket. It perfectly fits my window sill. I hope they will go growing soon :).

Ik heb ook al wat zaadjes gezaaid! Deze keer ben ik begonnen met paprika, sla en tomaten. Ik heb een oude verpakking van een kersenvlaai gebruikt als kasje want die past precies op mijn vensterbank. Ik hoop dat ze snel zullen gaan groeien :).

During the holidays I also planted some tulips. The garden centre (yes the one where I also bought these cake saucers) had then on sale because it's too late to plant them in the garden, but inside they grow beautifully as you can see! I'm expecting them to become pink :). 

Tijdens de kerstvakantie heb ik ook een paar tulpenbollen geplant. Het tuincentrum (ja dezelfde waar ik ook deze gebakschoteltjes heb gekocht) had ze in de uitverkoop omdat het te laat is om ze in de tuin te planten, maar binnen groeien ze prachtig zoals je kan zien! Als het goed is worden ze roze :).

And last but not least I decluttered another part of my students room. For this I coated an old shoebox with wrappingpaper. I'm very pleased with the result, it even looks a bit Pip-like, I think.

En last but not least, heb ik ook weer een deel van mijn studenten kamer "ontrommeld". Hiervoor heb ik een oude schoenendoos bekleed met pakpapier. Ik vind hem erg leuk geworden, zelfs een beetje Pip-achtig :).
